At Encounter Church we support local and international ministries

local

ICE

Along with the Churches in Ilfracombe, we help support the Initiative in Christian Education (ICE) - which funds a Christian youth worker at the local secondary school - Ilfracombe Academy. The ICE organisation aims to give every young person the opportunity to explore and understand the Christian faith.

Groundlevel network

The Ground level network exists as a family of Churches that empower, support and care for the local Church, it’s leaders and its ministries. They seek to have a growing influence in our world and believe that the Church is to be a prophetic voice that is characterised by a strong commitment to Word and Spirit.

The network organises Awaken in Lincoln, national forum days for senior leaders, Tuesday Leaders’ Gatherings, Leaders Conferences and Leader’s Long Lunches and much more in support.

As a Church we also pay into and support this and would love to see Ground Level move even more in the South West.

International

Israel

We support an Israeli fellowship – Kehilat Hamaayan, in Kfar Saba. The meaning of Hamaayan is “the well spring,” which is expressed through their vision to plant congregations and a school of ministry to train young people to know the Word of God. Learn more.

MIDDLE EAST

Our Missionary in the Middle East. People living here have the highest level of socioeconomic challenges and least access to the Christian message and Christian resources on the planet.

Since 2005 we have sent and supported a member of our Church overseas, initially in Africa and now in the Middle East. Our Encounter Church member works long-term with unreached people in this region, to make disciples who will go and make disciples.

ESWATINI (FORMERLY SWAZILAND)

Challenge Ministries UK (Learn more) and All to Christ Youth Mission (Learn more) are two ministries we support in Eswatini, a country nestled between South Africa and Mozambique. This beautiful peaceful little country has been ravaged by HIV/Aids and struggles with poverty.

Encounter sponsor two brothers from Bulembu (Learn more), our main centre for orphan care. Kids Church support the younger brother and the adults support the older brother.
