REGENLINK

Regen Link is about breaking through the loneliness and isolation older people face. This is done by linking them to one of our trained and police checked volunteers, or supporting them to join a group where they can meet with their peers, make friends and feel part of their community.

Loneliness is the hardest issue older people deal with on a day to day basis and has been identified as their biggest killer! At Regen for some, we are the only family they have and whoever visit. We want to remind them that they are valued and have not been forgotten - they still have so much to contribute.

It also gives us the opportunity to show Gods love in practical ways, by providing various support services to older people including those with Dementia: So working alongside the NHS, Social Services and the Alzheimer’s Society we have been providing the ‘Befrienders at Home’ and various different group activities over the last 6 years. To encourage and help folk gain confidence and enjoy life again, on whatever level they can manage.

Regen is run under the Encounter Church Charity and is supported by other local churches, because we all agree that as more resources for our older folk disappear, it’s time for us to ‘step up’ to meet those needs.

Mondays and Thursdays.
